New CenterScan 2010 eccentricity gauge and LaserSpeed® length and speed encoder helps wire and cable manufacturers improve quality, realize bottom-line benefits
Beta LaserMike, a leading global provider of precision measurement and control solutions, will be exhibiting its new CenterScan 2010 eccentricity measurement system and LaserSpeed non-contact length and speed encoder at the Kablo Fuari exposition in Istanbul, Turkey (Hall 7, Booth #G110). The show will be held at the Istanbul CNR Exhibition Center from April 7 – 9. The new CenterScan 2010 system can be used in-line with the LaserSpeed non-contact encoder, along with other Beta LaserMike high-precision gauges, for a complete wire and cable measurement system.
Beta LaserMike’s CenterScan 2010 system provides on-line, high-speed eccentricity measurement of wire and cable insulation over a solid or stranded core without touching the product. Highly sensitive magnetic and optical technology precisely determines the location of the conductor and insulated wire. This information is instantly processed to provide eccentricity, diameter, and ovality measurements, as well as detect product flaws. CenterScan 2010 can reliably measure diameters from 0.1 to 10 mm (0.004 to .40 in) and determine eccentricity and diameter with +0.0005 mm (+0.000020 in) accuracy.
Beta LaserMike’s LaserSpeed delivers better than +0.05% accuracy when measuring the length and speed of wire and cable during production. This non-contact laser encoder uses no moving parts and is permanently calibrated, making it the ideal solution for directly replacing contact-type wheel encoders that are prone to slippage, dirt build-up, and day-to-day wear. Models are available in economical single-direction encoders to fully featured bi-directional units.
Beta LaserMike will also be exhibiting a range of other high-precision, process measurement and control instrumentation for the wire and cable industry to help manufacturers improve product quality and lower production costs.
