Dayton, OH – March 4, 2013 – Beta LaserMike, a leading global provider of precision measurement and control solutions, will present a paper at the upcoming Techtextil 2013 conference in Frankfurt, Germany entitled “Targeting Inaccurate Length and Speed in Textile Manufacturing Applications with a Non-Contact, Laser-Based Measuring System.

Marcel Kloubert, Regional Sales Manager for Beta LaserMike in Germany and Switzerland, will discuss the inner workings of non-contact laser measurement technology and provide a close look at its use in process control in the most demanding textile manufacturing applications where maximizing productivity is a key competitive differentiator. This presentation is part of the Techtextil Symposium and will take place on Thursday morning, June 13, 2013 in the “TTS 7: New Processes” session.

Abstract
More than ever before, manufacturers are being pressured to deliver higher quality products faster while continuously reducing production costs in order to remain economically competitive. The key is to tightly control end-to-end production processes in rewind, differential speed, cut-to-length, and various other applications. Non-contact, laser length and speed measurement technology is helping textile manufacturers control critical processes with a repeatability to ±0.02%. This paper presentation examines the inner workings of this innovative measurement technology and takes a close look at its use in process control in the most demanding applications where maximizing productivity is a key competitive differentiator.
