Dayton, OH – May 6, 2013 – Beta LaserMike, a leading global provider of precision measurement and control solutions, reports a successful attendance at the recent ICE Europe and ICE USA converting exhibitions.

At ICE Europe (March 19-21), Beta LaserMike demonstrated the competitive advantages its LaserSpeed® non-contact laser encoder and how it helps converters to accurately measure the length and speed of products during production to avoid costly product overages and shortages, as well as reduce product scrap and rework. ICE show officials report that a total of 6,600 visitors from 64 countries (the largest turnout to date) attended the event in Munich, Germany.

At the ICE Europe technical conference, Marcel Kloubert, Beta LaserMike’s Regional Sales Manager for Germany and Switzerland, presented a technical paper entitled “Targeting Inaccurate Length and Speed in Converting Applications with a Non-Contact, Laser-Based Measurement System.” This paper examined the inner workings of non-contact laser measurement technology and provided a close look at its use in process control in the most demanding converting applications where maximizing productivity is a key competitive differentiator. The paper was well received by the European converting community and generated new interest in Beta LaserMike’s LaserSpeed measurement system. Mr. Kloubert will be giving a similar technical presentation at the upcoming Techtextil show in Frankfurt, Germany on June 13. For more information on this conference topic, visit Techtextil Events section on www.techtextil.messefrankfurt.com.

At the ICE USA in Orlando, Florida (April 9-11), Beta LaserMike also displayed the many benefits of LaserSpeed to converters of web-based materials, such as paper, film, foil and nonwovens. Bob Stockholm, Director of Sales for the Americas, indicated that booth visitors were very interested in the ±0.05% measurement accuracy, non-contact laser method, and potential productivity savings.
